Discover a More Joyful Life ๐Ÿ˜Š - For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he... Proverbs23:7 KJV Lady Wisdom asks, “What are you singing? Are you singing for joy, or are you singing the blues?” King David believed in the power of music. He set up a choir to sing in the tabernacle day and night. King David felt that God deserved to be praised untiringly. Therefore, he created the first tabernacle choir and gave them this song to sing. It was a song of thanksgiving to the Lord.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord and pray to him,” they sang. “Tell the peoples of the world about his mighty doings. Sing to him yes, sing his praises and tell of his marvelous works. Glory in his holy name. Let all rejoice who seek the Lord. Seek the Lord, yes, seek his strength. And seek his face untiringly. 1 Chronicles 16:8-11 TLB
I believe that there is something about singing songs of praise and thanksgiving to God that just wakes up the soul and fills it with joy. The joy then gives us the strength to look at life from a more optimist view. As we remember God’s goodness to us, our hearts are transformed from feeling down and depressed to feeling alive and grateful.
There is a science of happiness that is being discovered for a more joyful life in our relationships, spirit, mind, and body. More and more people realize that what we meditate on can determine our mental and physical health. Singing allows us to bounce back from feelings of anxiety and defeat. An upbeat song can make us dance. Our body becomes more relaxed as we release the stress of the day. We become present in the moment and can feel the emotion of happiness, which can lead to lasting joy. It is essential to infuse our days with more comfort and fun. We can do this by getting up each morning and declaring, “This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Prayer:
Dear Lord, Help me to release a song of praise to you every day. I want to sing to you and tell others about how good you are. Amen๐Ÿ˜Š
