September 27th Prayer | What is your obsession? | Inspire Me! | Lady Wi...

September 27th Prayer  What is your Obsession? Are you obsessed with
what is happening in our society? What are you focused on? Is this obsession
providing you the spirit breath of life that you need to enjoy your life? What
we pay attention to dictates where we are going. Our focus was given to us so
that we can complete assignments and get things done. However, when we are
distracted by things that do not matter or are not truly important, we rob
ourselves of the fullness of joy spoken about in the bible.

In God’s presence, there is the
fullness of joy. That is what we want to spend the time meditating on – the
Lord Jesus. This focus requires that we forget about ourselves and look to the
Holy Spirit to direct our mind and thoughts to what really matters.

I like what the Message Bible
says in Romans 8:5-8,
“Those who think they can do it
on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never
get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God’s action in them
find that God’s Spirit is in them – living and breathing God!
Obsession with self in these
matters is a dead end: attention to God leads us out into the open, into a
spacious, free life. Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God.
Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about
self than God. That person ignores who God is and what he is doing. And God
isn’t pleased at being ignored.”

Our mindset determines our life
or death experience. To have our minds stayed on Jesus will bring us life and a
flow that will bring others to the river in us. This joy the world cannot give
it, and the world cannot take it away. We can only lose it if we lose our focus
and our passion for God.

Dear Jesus,
Thank you for revealing yourself to us. Thank
you, Lord, that we can have our minds and thoughts renewed so that we can focus
on you. You, Lord, are so incredible, and following you is so rewarding. So we
ask that you will keep us obsessed with you and your word. Fix our hearts to
receive all that you have to offer so that we can grow in the Holy Spirit and
the life and peace that give.
Amen
