"For the reverence and fear (respect) of God are basic to all wisdom. Knowing God results in every other kind of understanding. I, Wisdom will make the hours of your life more fruitful. Wisdom is its own reward, and if you scorn her, you hurt only yourself." Proverbs 9:10-12, Living Bible
Lady Wisdom asks, “Who do you respect?”
As a society we need to get back to basics. Acknowledging that there is a God, sets our feet on a solid foundation for life. It will produce boundaries for our daily living. It is like having a constitution for our lives. We know the truth – God is. He is the “I Am.” Having this respect for God, helps us to respect his creation, the world and everything that is in it.

I think because we know that there is someone bigger and greater than us, compels us to be accountable to that person. Believing in God causes us to live with integrity. We are not just living for ourselves but also to please God. Our parents play a role in our lives as being the ones that we "reverence" and respect. They hold us accountable for our actions. Children who grow up with parents who do not provide boundaries have a difficult time in school and later on in the workplace.

This knowledge of God becomes the foundation of a person's character. It provides parameters for the way a person addresses different issues. It is a way in which an individual sees the world. Without the awareness of God, a human being is dealing with the world from a selfish view point.

Life is about how we interact with others. For our existence to be purposeful, we cannot live just for ourselves.  Living will become very lonely. What we do for others gives us the most joy. Our lives become fruitful and rich which are rewards from Lady Wisdom!
Managing the Hours of Your Day

"I, Wisdom, will make the hours of your day more profitable and the years of your life more fruitful...Wisdom is its own reward, and if you scorn her, you hurt only yourself." Proverbs 9:11, 12, Living Bible

Lady Wisdom asks, “ How well are you handling your time?”

Who does not want to be more profitable and more fruitful? There are so many things that can distract us from doing what is most profitable. A mentor of mine introduced me to a concept of looking at things in a quadrant of importance and urgency. He said to me to think of things in terms of their need to be completed or accomplished. Within the four quadrants are the things that are important/urgent, not important/ urgent, important/ not urgent, and not important/ not urgent. It is amazing how many things we do that are not important but have the power to make us feel as if it is urgent like answering the phone. Our feeling of “what if” takes over and we are forced to answer the phone in fear that we are missing an important call.

Having choices is a part of being human. Making sound and good decisions create the hours of our day. If we are able to have the assistance of Lady Wisdom to help us with the process, then we should humble ourselves and get her advice.

I think that taking the time to consult with God through his word the Bible will produce a profitable and fruitful life. There are times when listening to our inner voice based on the principles of wisdom can be a life saver. However, we must practice Lady Wisdom's presence in our lives so that we are listening to the right voices.

Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for speaking to me and making the hours of my day more profitable and the years of my life fruitful. I will not scorn Lady Wisdom but ask her guidance each day. Thank you in advance for every blessing!
Help me to reverence and respect you. Please make me fruitful in all that I do!
Amen!
