Each desire is a seed that when planted in our hearts, can produce a great tree. Jesus speaks about the significance of a mustard seed. If we plant the seed, then the tree has the potential to grow into something that can feed and house many others. It can even feed and house the dreams or seeds of other people. We cannot underestimate the value of each person’s seed. Proverbs 21:13 TLB Lady Wisdom asks, “Why do you ignore the vulnerable and weak among you?” Jesus Christ in his ministry on Earth specially came to change the conditions of the poor and needy. He wanted them to know that they do not have to be poor anymore. The Bible says that He, Jesus went around doing good. He even fed the people and looked out for their well-being. Min istry to the poor is part of the Christian calling. We are to not overlook the poor. Something very troubling in our society is the disregard for the less fortunate. The spirit of greed seems to be rising in the places and institutions that were considered to be a support system for the needy. Churches, schools, hospitals, and government appear to be overtaken by individuals who only see them as ways to make money. It is abusive in nature. September 4 th Prayer: Strength and Courage Strength and courage for this day seem to be the theme. At the beginning of the month, at the beginning of anything, I need power and courage. Many questions fill my mind like, what if I am wasting my time? Will this work? What is it that I need to focus on? What is the most important? These questions all have some validity to them. Yet, I know that I must begin and move forward in faith for the next victory. Nothing will be accomplished if I do nothing. The verse for the day in the Bible app which I refer to almost every day is Deuteronomy 31:6 KJV, “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” This is the promise that the Lord also gives to us.
