Dr. Cindy Trimm my Spiritual Mentor
The words of Dr. Cindy Trimm have guided me on my wisdom journey.

Wisdom from the Elders - those who have already gone that way of difficult living can impart knowledge to us through their experiences and insights. They carry much knowledge so we shouldn't neglect what they have to say. We should pay attention to what was said. It might not necessarily apply to the present scenario situations that we experience today. Yet, there are nuggets of truth in their words. The elders (our parents and spiritual mentors) were probably referencing their time or era. Their understanding of the situation may be conceptualized from their point of reference.

As I was reading Proverbs 1: 8 (AMP), “My son, hear the instruction of your father, and do not reject the teaching of your mother.” These are the words of wisdom that spoke to my soul. A father's exultation requires wisdom. "My child listen when your father gives correction." We should reflect on fatherly advice which can enrich us. It can only happen when we spend time with our fathers. Proverbs also speak about mothers. Don't overlook your mother's instruction which is like “a garland of grace on your head” and chains of gold.

In other words, we can build on their wisdom. The words that the elders articulate come from their frame of reference. The concepts of knowledge can be tricky. We can still gather and gain those perceptions. We can get an understanding of life from them and utilize it as a launching pad to a new and exciting adventure. That's how we can continue on this wisdom journey.
